When I first found Andrea i was 3 months post op (sleeve) and just winging it. I had previously been so misinformed. I thought I was low carb for life and so I was constantly in the diet mindset and it was mentally and physically exhausting me. I knew I had a big vacation that included lots of walking and with my energy being so low I decided to reach out to her. I honestly probably would not have made it without her! After talking we realized I might need additional guidance that I wasn't getting from strictly my surgeon. In just 3 short months I have learned SO much. My energy levels are up, my weight and inches are continuously going down. I have new non scale victories almost every week. And most importantly I'm making healthier decisions without having to over think it or feel deprived. I cannot thank God enough for putting her in my path!
In 2017 I had bariatric VSG. I was one of the lucky people where nothing I ate bothered me however I was a “slow” loser. I religiously followed my program. In January 2018 I started running (aka mostly walking) and realized I liked the feeling when I finished a run or a race. As the time progressed I ran further and further to the point where in 2019 I signed up to run a half marathon. This big upcoming race made me realize I needed guidance about nutrition so I wouldn’t hit walls. I happened across Andrea and as with all things on FB I was initially skeptical but accepted a free initial mini coaching call. That’s all it took - it was instant connection. She was dependable, knowledgeable, professional, fun to chat with and kind. Immediately I signed up for her services and she got me through my half. If I hadn’t met her when I did I question if I would have been able to successfully complete my half marathon. She even will send me fantastic encouragement and advice when she see’s a post when I might be struggling! I’m so grateful for all she has done for me!
This time last year I was the heaviest I have ever been. I was tired all the time, I had awful insomnia, and I couldn’t get through my day without taking a nap. My poor diet and lack of exercise not only affected my sleep and my weight, but it also began to affect my skin. My eczema was constantly flaring up and I had developed dermatitis on my face. I knew something had to give. I wanted to change how I ate and be more active. But for months it was just a dream, a goal with no action or deadline. I wanted change so badly but did not have the energy nor the motivation to make any kind of moves. Then, a very lucky thing happened. I had won a contest for three months of one on one nutrition coaching with Andrea. I was skeptical, but excited, knowing that I would have a professional on my team to keep me accountable. So, the change was difficult. But! It was only difficult when I was not putting the work in. But Andrea, with the most gentle sternness, held me accountable. And more importantly, praised me for my accomplishments and encouraged me to continue to push myself further and further each week. So I began to do my work. I found as the weeks went on, and as I absorbed all the knowledge I could from Andrea, I was making good choices and prioritizing my health. Not only did I begin to see changes in my body, (losing weight and inches) but I felt different. I was no longer sluggish and moody. I woke up and felt ready to take on the day, ready to challenge myself. For the first time since I can remember, I was sleeping all the way through the night. All these amazing changes were because of the work I was putting in and the choices I was making. But it would not have been a reality if it wasn’t for Andrea’s constant motivation and kindness. She not only addressed my dietary issues but my overall health. And even after our time working in the program together, Andrea still continues to reach out to check in on my progress. If you’re not sure if one on one coaching is for you, I have to tell you, I felt the same way. I always wanted a healthy active body, but in the back of my mind, I never thought I could really have it. A healthy body is a gift only you can give yourself, no one else can. But now I can say proudly that when you do the work, you truly with reap the reward. Andrea’s guidance will help you track and reach your goals in the time you work together and beyond. I learned things from her that I will carry with me as healthy habits for a long time ahead. Prioritize your health. Prioritize you! Ready to do the work or not, reach out to her, I truly believe she can help you reach your goals.
I have been seeing Andrea since 2017 & am honored to share my recommendation! Andrea is extremely knowledgeable, truly loves to help her clients and wants to see them succeed. She is so easy to talk to, it feels like you’re talking with one of your girlfriends. At no time have I ever felt badly or felt judged when sharing my struggles or indulgences (or over-indulgences) pre-op or post-op. She is there listening, not criticizing & offers suggestions for next time a situation like that arises. Andrea’s warmth, compassion & enthusiasm is felt every time we communicate, whether it’s in person, email or by phone. Whenever I do something that I know would make Andrea smile, regardless if its food related or exercise related, anything that would warrant her saying “GOOD JOB”, I imagine her jumping up and down like a cheerleader because that’s what she is! Everyone should have their own cheerleading Andrea. I consider myself very lucky!
